This afternoon, I found a kid playing at a playground alone. I approached the kid silently. The kid noticed my presence and said hello. I ended up building sand castles with him.
When we parted, he said: "My mother taught me to say thanks to someone that has made me happy. Thanks."
I find that kid more mature than me ^^

question!! *raises hand* '_______'
do we have to thank those who made us unhappy by giving us something that's supposed to make us happy??
that's basic manner but it's pretty much lying..

For me, they are the angels with unlimited power, the power that can make people happy, can relax people mind after a long day, can get everyone in family closer. But they lose their power along the way when they grow up.
My eyes always got suck into them whenever i see one, and that freak the kíd out sometime, but its all good after a smile ^_^

Thank-you. This particular comment somewhat startled me though comments from you have always taken me to the clouds ^^
I don't think I will blame them if they are not conscious of my private pain...
I don't think I am courageous enough to hurt someone if they ever do this on purpose either. It absorbs a lot of my energy, why would I waste my energy on paying back? ^^ ...(partly because I've never been in such situation ^^) It's the best to avoid seeing that one again :D
Yes, it's basic manner. The fact that the kid actually told me I'd made him smile, it requires a lot of courage, don't you think? You confuse me a little - why do you think it's pretty much lying?
@Nhân Sầu: I gained a bad reputation around the neighbourhood for frightening their kids. I swear I haven't do anything! I like watching them and sometimes getting involved in their games -_-'' though on Halloween's, I love exaggerating stories ^^
I learned a lot from looking kids play with each other. Kids always say what they think without be aware of what others think, they live gratefully & enjoy their life at any moment. Everybody was a child, then we growing up, and normally we also gradually give up our innocence & nature to adapt with society standards. People called it "maturity", but in my opinion, those who lost personality to get others' acceptance are much more stupid than a kid.

 if you could just tell them the truth that you don't like this kind of gift, maybe you will get the one that you like for the next time:D (cáuse it hard to guess what people like as a gift, so just tell them what you like so that they dónt stress over of what to buy for you) I know asian parents always taught their kids to be polite even you dónt like the gift you still have to act :D like you like it. I'm so disagree to this; however, if you think it through, you smile and thanks them not because of the gift but the time and effort that they put through to bring the gift to you.:D
I accept with TT, it's still better than not saying anything :D Btw, in many case, the truth is not always better than the false :D

Maybe I did, I'm always dead serious :D :D Sorry for being so...airheaded -_-''
Alright alright, so was I taught/raised to be, too. However, I wasn't allowed to be around the adults a lot, so... :D It was never a good idea to give me presents either. I always drew on dolls' faces, cut their hair, "designed" their clothes. In the end, the dolls would always miss a part of her body -_-''
You have a point ^^
The point with saying thanks is to show appreciation to someone's kindness. If someone gives you something as a present, it means that s/he thinks about you, cares about you ^^ Well, being a liar who encourages people to be kind, is that very bad? A cute considering liar :D :D When you acted happy, you made someone happy, too ^^ (Maybe that was why you never got what you wanted ^^)
(I know I'm just looking on the bright side of the matter -_-'')
@KenX: Like a false Gucci that is 100000 times cheaper makes your mom/gf/friend so proud and happy (till she discovers the truth) :D :D :D :D :D
loveyou_thanksyou
