NOT... definitely NOT. Speaking from my experience, if I ever find the way the media portray women to be unsatisfactory, my self-esteem will increase, and instead of harming myself I usually harm others... whether they are living beings or non-living beings, like the TV.

By your response, I know you are a girl.
You disagreed with the topic. Cool. Can I ask how you feel jealous of looking beautiful female models on ads? Do you think images of the women affects young fashion style?
Thank you!!! Nice to meet you

Actually, I don't find it in me to be jealous of beautiful models. A bit of admiration is all. I don't care much fashion and won't really notice a single difference in people's clothes.
I'm someone in favor of BRAINS. Heaps of brain-ism make me go wild. Really, really admire intelligent/smart/cunning women. They make life so colorful. Esp female SCIENTISTS. When they appear on TV, I would go "awww..." and feel very motivated!

since bạn TT has already chosen to be on the positive side, i will take up the side of the perverse XD
well, the mass media has undoubtedly shaped and altered the way people perceive things. positively speaking, its contributions to the society, besides being the most powerful source of information we have, have entertained, enriched and enlighted the public quite greatly.
however, the media can pose as a threat to the female population through various forms and broadcasts that the society as a whole sees as detrimental or damaging. specifically speaking, por-nography in the media is long believed to have negatively influenced the society, increased violence, and deranged the image of women especially in a community where the idea of gender liberalization is not entirely formulated.
se-xually explicit materials that are published on news papers, broadcasted on televisions or in the cinemas, (arguably) portray women as se-xual playthings to satisfy male desires. a common belief is that por-nography (to me, only seemingly XD) objectify women (well, not all but mostly). women tend to experience inferior, insecure, or emotionally depraved feelings after viewing such se-xual explicit circumstances, where people of the same gender are victimized and blatantly harassed (or whatever that they do but i don't know that they do :D:D)
lol, i must have exasperated the effects of the P thing in media.. nevertheless, every one is presented with a choice to be informed or not to be informed, they can choose to feel however they like to feel. since every set of television comes with a remote control, if they think they are offended by a program, just switch the channel XD
i notice i wrote a lot.. haizz, im preparing for my up-coming english exam, which is in 2 days time..
and HHT, por-nography and se-xual are NOT swear words!!! >____________<

Wow, lots of information and an interesting argument, though. Remember that *********** not only degrades women but also men, actually all humans. Besides, my question is why these women who are **** stars do not think about what they are doing? Maybe they have no choice or that the choice they choose.

lol, straying, ain't we??
if you're asking about my opinion, don't expect much 'cause i have nothing against por-nography. i just raised the issue to provide a supporting evidence for my argument, which was that the media can be a negative influence. personally i believe por-nography is only another preference to entertainment. what make it revolting or morally inappropriate are just the society's world-old prejudice and conventional bias against what i simply perceive as another dimensional view to life.
to answer your question, por-nstar is nothing less than a choice of career. voluntarily or not, it is vague to attempt at judgment upon anyone's confidential and consensus drives to decisions.
lol i sound like i'm dying to protect the love of my life, which is the right to privacy (and bizarrely, por-n). again, dont assume or prejugde, i completely agree that por-ns are stupid and pointless. im just very open-minded ^^

Not really, Like visiting a website, it often leads us to other links. When writing about anything, I try to view it in the bést way I can. media- por-nography, advertisngs, women, culture, society, all of them need to linked together to write my essay. Like cooking a soup, if you don't try new flavors, you will never have a new tasty soup. However, I neeed to be careful not to destroy my essay by puuting too much flavor in.
Thank you!
