Âm nhạc đã góp phần không nhỏ trong cuộc đấu tranh tư tưởng của người dân với chính phủ Mỹ về những hoạt động quân sự, những cuộc chiến mà nước Mỹ tham gia bên ngoài lãnh thổ của họ và Rock cũng không phải ngoại lệ. Chúng ta đã từng được biết đến "One" của Metallica, một ca khúc nói về chiến tranh khá ấn tượng khi miêu tả nỗi đau đớn, sợ hãi của người lính khi cận kề cái chết.

Lần này NhacRockOnline sẽ giới thiệu 1 ca khúc phản chiến rất hay của Guns n Roses được nhiều rock fans yêu thích, đó là CIVIL WAR

Ca khúc được viết bởi Axl Rose, Slash và Duff McKagan và đã leo lên đến vị trí thứ 4 trên "U.S. Mainstream Rock". Ca khúc này lần đầu xuất hiện trong album Nobody's Child trong chương trình gây quỹ cho trẻ sơ sinh Rumani. Ca khúc đề cập đến mặt trái của chiến tranh đó là "đào sâu ngăn cách giữa giàu và nghèo và chiến tranh chỉ nhằm mang lại lợi ích và khiến cho kẻ giàu càng giàu thêm". Điểm đáng chú ý là ca khúc được phát hành vào thời điểm nước Mỹ không hề tham gia các hoạt động quân sự nào. Vì vậy nó được xem là ca khúc nhằm tôn vinh lại những ca khúc phản chiến của những năm 60s trong thời gian chiến tranh Việt Nam.

Ca khúc này xuất hiện trong 3 albums khác nữa của GnR, là track đầu tiên trong Use Your Illusion II và sau đó là 2 album tổng hợp Use Your Illusion, và Guns N' Roses Greatest Hits. Ca khúc này cũng đề cập đến vụ ảm sát tổng thống Kenedy khi trong lời hát có đoạn: "and in my first memories they shot Kennedy."

Điểm đặc trưng của ca khúc này là đoạn đối thoại mở đầu được trích từ bộ phim "Cool Hand Luke". Với ca khúc này, những đứa con nổi loạn của Rock n Roll cho thấy họ không chỉ biết ăn chơi và phá hoại mà cũng biết dùng âm nhạc và tài năng của họ đóng góp một phần vào những vấn đề thời sự trong đời sống của xã hội Mỹ.

úi làm nguyên một bài luôn:D....ừm bài này hay và có ý nghĩa lắm....nó có nhắc đến chiến tranh ở Việt nam và phê phán ông Kenedy người đã phát động cuộc chiến tranh này....ngoài lời của nó ali còn thích giai điệu của nó lúc trầm cảm lúc mạnh mẽ....nghe phê thật...thích nhất đoạn này :D
